Mine is in my attic (at least, I think it is) and, it just goes to show how eclectic and really how remarkable a label like Island was. I mean, would anyone release a record like that now? Although i can't imagine them being covered in the Island exhibition, your comments have promted me to not only visit the attic but to also go and see whats on view.

I also just looked on the Island site and see that there are a series of concerts as well as a tv show... my wife will get the axe out, because it looks like my youth is coming back to haunt me.

One other comment, its fascinating to read about this 'stuff' - I use the word because you did - from people who were there. I wasn't and... so yes, maybe there is a bit of jealousy. I like the insights and the Nigel Kennedy 'stuff' was really funny. God, was he that mad? Did you, doe anyone pout up with those sort of goings on... I suppose so. Whatever happened to him?

Write more... honestly, I could read this again and again.

Tony, Hampstead.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-458458298755361503.post-56300969727244455022009-05-25T14:38:17.266+01:002009-05-25T14:38:17.266+01:00I suppose you had to be there to really 'get it' b...I suppose you had to be there to really 'get it' but reading that is as good as i gets. The exhibition sounds really interesting and I'll certainly be going - can't wait to try to get inside a Trabant - I'm 6'3"!
Gordon, Iselworth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-458458298755361503.post-14348936073818143752009-05-25T12:28:41.007+01:002009-05-25T12:28:41.007+01:00I agree, beautifully written.
